Truckers fetching higher rates for hauling as demand rises and capacity shrinks

… restaurant supplier Sysco told investors that freight cost increases are “dramatic” and contributed to a deeper decrease in fourth-quarter gross profits than expected. All told, most major U.S. food companies, such as Hershey and J.M. Smucker, have reported higher-than-expected transportation costs.
